1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Shadow101, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App or website. These terms operate together with Apple's terms that apply to your download and use of iOS apps.
2. App Purpose
Shadow101 is an educational practice tool for listening, sentence-by-sentence shadowing, voice recording and comparison, vocabulary review, reminders, and progress tracking. It does not promise a specific language-learning result, score, certification, or level of fluency.
3. Personal Use
You may use Shadow101 for lawful, personal, non-commercial learning. You are responsible for how you use, save, email, or share material made available through the App. Do not use the App to violate law, another person's rights, or the terms of a mail, sharing, or platform service.
4. User Recordings
You retain whatever rights you have in your own voice recordings. Shadow101 does not claim ownership of them. Recordings are kept in the App's local storage and are controlled through the deletion and re-recording features described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for obtaining permission before recording another person's voice.
5. Availability
Features may change, be corrected, or be discontinued. Availability can depend on your device, iOS version, microphone and notification permissions, bundled content, App Store services, network access, and third-party services used for support or website hosting. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
6. Intellectual Property
The Shadow101 App software, interface, website design, and Shadow101 branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Educational texts, audio, translations, lesson titles, vocabulary, and other learning materials available through the App may be owned by their respective authors, publishers, recording producers, translators, or other rights holders. Access through Shadow101 does not transfer ownership of those materials to you.
Nothing in these terms claims that Shadow101 owns third-party educational content. You may use content only to the extent permitted by applicable law and the rights holder's terms.
7. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shadow101 is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the provider of Shadow101 will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, learning progress, recordings, opportunity, or profits arising from use of or inability to use the App or website. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Changes
We may update these terms when the App, website, or applicable requirements change. The Last Updated date identifies the current version. Continuing to use Shadow101 after updated terms take effect means you accept the updated terms to the extent permitted by law.
